Open Villages Day is the largest village event in Finland!

Are you ready to experience an unforgettable day filled with local culture, community spirit, and unique experiences? Open Villages Day invites you to join the nationwide celebration, now in its tenth year, on June 8, 2024!
 
Get ready for a lively experience and unforgettable moments as over 150,000 enthusiastic village tourists take over villages across Finland The event highlights hundreds of villages and turns them into local tourism destinations, as the day is full of the charm and life of villages. The day offers a unique opportunity to get close to village life and Finnish countryside. The goal is to elevate villages as tourist destinations and to encourage new residents to find a home in the heart of villages.
 
We want you to participate, explore, and enjoy the diverse program offered by villages, which includes traditional yard sales, local delicacies, and a variety of activities from village bingo to village rally.
 
Village Associations
Registration for the event is easy and free for village associations and similar organizations. Registration opens on March 1, 2024.

The event is organized in collaboration with local associations, villages, the Finnish Village Movement Association, regional village associations, and Leader groups.
 
 
 

Vuoden 2023 Avoimet Kylät -päivä keräsi 630 tapahtumaa kartalla!

Alla olevassa kartassa on nähtävillä vuoden 2023 tapahtumat.

Kyläkaupat kartalla!

Suomen maaseutualueilla toimii edelleen 190 kyläkauppaa. Kyläkauppa on kylän sydän ja vahvasti mukana asukkaidensa arjessa. Satunnaisille ohikulkijoille ja matkailijoille asiointi kyläkaupassa voi olla ihan omanlainen elämys!

Kaupalla osataan myös vinkata turisteille kylän salaiset helmet. Bongaa kartalta kyläkauppa ja poikkea käymään!
